Privacy Policy
DiveBuddy respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep the data we collect to a minimum.
What we collect
When you create an account we store your name, email, phone number (if provided), the courses you mark as interesting, and the date you gave consent. We do not collect payment details on this site.
Why we collect it
Solely so DiveBuddy can contact you about the courses and dives you're interested in. There is no online booking or payment — your details simply let us reach you.
Consent
We only create an account after you tick the consent box during registration. By doing so you agree to your details being stored for the purpose above.
Sign-in & how it's stored
You can sign in in one of two ways: with an email and password, or with your Google account. If you choose a password, we store only a securely hashed version of it (using bcrypt) — never the password itself. If you use Google, we receive only your name and email address from Google to create your account, and no password is involved. Your data is stored on our own server, and access is restricted to DiveBuddy administrators.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. It stays with DiveBuddy. If you choose to sign in with Google, that step relies on Google's authentication, which is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Retention
We keep your account details only for as long as your account is active or as needed to contact you about courses and dives you're interested in. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data from our systems.
Your choices
You can view and update your details anytime from your account. To have your account and data deleted, contact us and we'll remove them.
